Creating document entities and adding them to your templates

In this tutorial we will show you how to create a document entity and add that entity to a document template in Hoowla.

Note: Entities are used to automatically pull through person card information into your documents. In Hoowla you can setup your own entities, allowing you to merge in any person information into your document templates you choose.

Here’s the help guide on how to assign missing people in a case to populate your documents with their information.

Creating a document entity to add to a template

To create a document entity navigate to SETUP – TEMPLATES and select DOCUMENT ENTITIES. Firstly check that the entity you need isn’t already in the list and if not, select CREATE ENTITY

Adding an entity to your document template

When it comes to adding placeholders from people cards into your templates, if you find that the person type is missing from your template then you will need to add their entity. When editing the template, select PLACEHOLDERS – ADD ENTITY TO TEMPLATE. Then select the entity you wish to add from the dropdown and press save (you will need to quick save your template for the entity to show up). You will then be able to add people card placeholders relevant to that entity into your template.
