Authorise Hoowla to send emails from your domain
When emails are sent by you from Hoowla the system will use your email address (or one of your colleagues). To ensure those emails are delivered you will need to make some changes to your domain’s DNS settings. This is something typically managed by an IT representative responsible for your email systems and website.
Caution: Please only use these settings if you are comfortable editing and validating DNS records on your domain(s).
Here are the details you will need to enter:
Value: v=spf1 include:email.hoowla.com ~all
if a record already exists, separate with a space, e.g.
v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com include:email.hoowla.com ~all
If you are also running Mimecast then you may benefit from updating its anti spoofing spf based bypass policy. Use the following as guidance and please refer to Mimecast if you require further details here:
Navigate to admin console – administration menu – gateway – policies – anti-spoofing spf based bypass – click on correct policy (e.g everyone to everyone) – there is a field called “when ip matches spf record of” just enter in the hoowla domain name into that field.
